Code of Conduct
Furries on Pearl St (FoPS) was created to enjoy an evening walking along Pearl Street as a furry. Everyone's (the public and FoPS members) safety and enjoyment is FoPS's highest priority. We ask everyone from our community to partake in providing that safe environment. If you attend a FoPS event, you are encouraged to help create a great experience for everyone.
To that end, this Code of Conduct has been created to apply to every member of the FoPS community that attends an event. FoPS is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive event for everyone (general public included) regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, cultural belief, political orientation, or any other protected category.

Follow the Rules
Pearl St is a public area. That being said, we should consider ourselves as guests when there in suit and as a group. Any and all Pearl St / Boulder County ordances, rules, or posted guidelines come first and if you attend a FoPS event, you must agree to and follow those policies.Be Kind and Considerate
Think before acting and speaking. What you consider to be acceptable behavior may not be so for others around you. FoPS is held in public area and for that reason it is vital we respect the general public and other FoPS members with respect at all times. If someone requests to be left alone, respect their wishes. Remember:
- Consent is absolute and can be revoked at any time.
- “No” means "No". “Stop” means "Stop". “Go away” means "Go away". This is not open to discussion.
- Ask first if there is uncertainty if someone wants to be hugged, touched, or booped.
- A costume does not imply consent.
- Be aware, the general public, especially kids, will not know this. Be kind and understanding as long as it is not inappropriate (like groping / getting a feel) in which case that can and should be reported to FoPS admins.
Safety
Violence toward others will not be tolerated. If FoPS admins or anyone offical (like police) request you to cease your current activity during an event, or has asked you to leave, you are required to comply immediately. If you believe that you have been treated unfairly, please comply at the moment, and then notify a FoPS admin with as much detail as you can.Be very mindful of any activity that may be considered as horseplay. Peal St is a public place and will have other people walking around and we do not want anyone hurt anyone physically.
Harassment, as defined in Colorado Law, is any action with the intent to harass, annoy, or alarm another person. Harassment at a FoPS event will not be tolerated. Harassing acts include, but are not limited to: unwanted contact, threatening physical violence towards one or multiple participant(s), insulting others, etc.
If you are being harassed, we strongly encourage you to immediately contact a FoPS admin or the police.
Injuries
Due to limited visibility of fursuit heads, any injuries that result from wearing a fursuit head (like tripping and falling) is the wearer's fault and shall not hold the group or any business along Pearl St at fault.Sexual Activities
Sexual talk and activities of any kind are forbidden at any FoPS event. This policy is a zero tolerance policy, and anyone caught violating this section of the Code of Conduct is subject to a permanent ban from future FoPS events.Provocative subjects include but are not limited to:
- Displays, behaviors, gestures, and speech that are erotic, racially disparaging, menacing, violent, or overtly disturbing in general.
- Explicitly sexual actions and behaviors are not permitted in public.
- Distribution of any items showing or hinting at sexual activities.
- Discussing sexual or fetish topics including, but not limited to, feral, zoo, cub, baby furs.
Hate Speech
Hate speech or any attire or imagery commonly used in conjunction with hate speech are not welcome at FoPS events.Dress Code
First and foremost, any rules established by law or Pearl St must be followed. This is a public outing and for that reason, anything that is not safe to show in a G-rated movie should not be worn.More specifically collars, leashes, pup hoods, harnesses worn over/under shirts, and revealing rubber are not acceptable. Contact a FoPS admin if you have any questions for any accessory for verification.
Suggestive comments or gestures toward an attendee's attire will not be tolerated.
Weapons
No guns, knives, swords, poles, or any other item that can be considered a weapon will be permitted at a FoPS event be they real or fake (including rubber weapons, nurf/rubber band/cap/water guns). No weapons in any form, period. Failure to follow this will lead to a ban from future events.Drama
There are groups and individuals that may attend that others do not wish to associate with or be nearby. Due to the fact that FoPS is held in a public area, unless said individual is actively threatening other participants or the public, or they have been convicted of a violent crime, FoPS will not pre-emptively ban a fellow community member from attending. If you know of any individuals that have been convicted of a crime, or are threatening anyone, then let a FoPS admin know immediately. Please provide as much detail, and evidence, as you can and we will investigate.
Drugs
Anything that is illegal generally is illegal at a FoPS event.Sale, distribution, use, or possession of controlled substances will not be tolerated at any FoPS event.
Marijuana
Recreational marijuana for those 21 and older is legal in Colorado but public consumption - smoking, eating, vaping, etc. - remains illegal. Usage of marijuana products is not permitted at FoPS events.Alcohol
Alcoholic beverages and public intoxicaition are not permitted at FoPS events.Consequences of Violating the Code of Conduct
Violating the Code of Conduct is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Any participants asked to stop their behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in any behavior that violates the above Code of Conduct, FoPS admins will take any action they deem appropriate, including warning or expelling the offender from the current event. For more egregious behavior, FoPS may, in its reasonable discretion, temporarily ban or permanently expel a participant from attending future events.Banned List
